Astro is pleased to introduce a product family of dual cavity crimp tools for crimping the popular AS7928 (Mil-T-7928/MS25036 Series) Ring Terminals, Splices, and End Caps, 14AWG through 26AWG. The introduction of this tool is the result of a DOD sponsored project to standardize the legacy Class 2 crimp tool to Class 1 status by the issuance of MIL-DTL-22520/40 Crimp Tool Standard.

These manually operated crimp tools accept all manufactures Class 1 terminations (and most Class 2 parts also). Extensive testing and development has taken place to provide the best possible tool performance.

The tools provide a reliable ratchet controlled mechanism to ensure full crimp force/closure is applied. The handles will not open until they have been fully closed and the crimp completed. The tools are equipped with a locator to hold terminals and splices in place for crimping.

The length and weight are 10 3/4 inches long, and 1.48 lbs. Qualification status and other information can be obtained by contacting Astro Tool.

The height of the insulation crimp barrel can be adjusted to accommodate different insulation diameters.

 

AMT4001 Crimp Tool for Terminals (M22520/40 Ref*)

AMT4001Astro’s AMT4001 crimp tool is a fast, manually operated tool for crimping AS7928 (MIL-T-7928) Ring Terminals and Splices for wire sizes 24 through 14 (terminal and splice color codes Small Yellow, Red, White/Clear, and Blue).

The AMT4001 provides a ratchet controlled crimp to ensure full crimp force/closure is applied. The handles will not open until they have been fully closed and the crimp completed.

The tool is equipped with a locator to hold terminals and splices in place for crimping.

The AMT4001 is 10 ¾ inches long, and weighs approximately 30 ounces. For long life and optimum performance, this tool should be kept clean and handled carefully, as any other precision instrument.
